Life can bring difficult moments that require us to work through some adversity. This is especially the case if we have been physically or psychologically injured at work or in a motor vehicle accident. At PeopleSense, our experienced clinicians are here to support you on your recovery journey.
Supporting Your Recovery
Our experienced clinicians can assist with a range of issues or conditions such as acute or chronic pain; adjustment difficulties; post-traumatic stress; acute stress; depression; anxiety; trauma; and many other physical and mental health conditions.
Treatment is tailored to your unique needs and is informed by the latest research. Our clinicians are skilled in various evidence-based therapies, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Trauma-focused CBT; Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Schema Therapy amongst others. The clinician will also take your personal preferences into consideration when designing your treatment plan, ensuring that you feel comfortable and supported throughout the process.
Quality Care that Puts You First
After sustaining an injury, receiving timely care is important. Research shows that accessing prompt psychological support for physical or psychological injuries can fast track your recovery. Collaborative care is equally important, which is why our clinicians work closely with other health professionals like GPs, psychiatrists, exercise physiologists, and physiotherapists to provide you with well-rounded, integrated care.
How to Access Support
Your insurance claims manager may refer you for support because they recognise the value of prompt psychological treatment. Sometimes, the referral or recommendation may come from someone else like a GP or a Rehabilitation Consultant, after which the insurer will need to approve the referral, including how many sessions are approved.
PeopleSense then contacts you to offer an initial assessment appointment with a clinician. During the initial appointment, wellbeing questionnaires are completed, and the clinician will ask about the nature of your injury, your current health, your history and your goals. The subsequent sessions are treatment-focused to support your recovery and elevate your wellbeing. Our aim is to help you achieve a timely return to your work and personal roles.
Appointments are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly, and can be accessed in-person, via video call, or via telephone, depending on what suits your needs and treatment goals. Some clients opt for a combination of modalities. The time between sessions allows you to action what has been discussed in treatment. Follow up wellbeing questionnaires are completed throughout treatment to help track your progress. Throughout your treatment, your clinician will also attend case conferences with you and your other treating health professionals to review goals and overall progress and to discuss future treatment planning.
Once the approved sessions have been completed, you and your clinician will decide on whether further sessions would be helpful for your recovery. If additional sessions are recommended, your clinician will provide an update to the insurer and request funding for further support.
