We asked and what we heard shaped our mission to build a clearer, more reliable mental health pathway for general practice.
For many patients, their GP is the first place they turn to when mental health concerns arise. GPs told us this places significant responsibility on general practice to assess risk, provide early support, and guide patients into appropriate care.
Many GPs described referral pathways as fragmented, with long waitlists, limited availability, and uncertainty about who can see patients promptly. These delays can leave patients unsupported and GPs carrying ongoing risk.
GPs told us they often receive little feedback after referring a patient. Without timely updates or shared-care communication, continuity of care becomes harder, particularly for patients with higher or ongoing needs.
