Career Redirection helps you reflect on your working life and identify career pathways that align with your values and goals.

Career Redirection is offered by experienced Employment Consultants, designed to support individuals who are reflecting on their current career direction and exploring potential alternative pathways. The service provides a structured, practical space to gain insight into vocational strengths, clarify priorities, and identify realistic options aligned with personal values, health, and life circumstances.

Why should I use Career Redirection?

Career Redirection empowers individuals to take a proactive approach to their working life by increasing clarity, confidence and self‑understanding. This service may be particularly beneficial for:

  • Individuals considering a sidestep, change or transition within their organisation

  • Those impacted by redundancy, role uncertainty or organisational change

  • People experiencing health, lifestyle or personal changes that affect work capacity or priorities

  • Anyone seeking greater alignment between their values, strengths and career direction

  • Individuals wanting guidance to explore new career possibilities with structure and support

The service is especially beneficial for individuals in the ‘preparation’ or ‘action’ stages of the Stages of Change model and can also support those in ‘contemplation’ to clarify goals and move forward with confidence.

What kind of support does the Career Redirection service provide?

  • Career Redirection involves three structured sessions. Appointments are recommended to be scheduled fortnightly to allow time for reflection between sessions, however the timing can be adapted to suit individual preferences and needs. Sessions may include:

  • Review of vocational background, work history and transferable skills

  • Exploration of values, strengths, interests and motivators

  • Psychometric profiling (where appropriate) to support insight and decision‑making

  • Identification of options aligned to current circumstances and future goals

  • Application of behaviour change principles to support progress

  • Goal setting and development of a proactive career action plan

The service is tailored to each individual’s objectives and circumstances, ensuring the support remains relevant, practical and achievable.

By the conclusion of the service, participants can expect to have greater clarity around potential career pathways, increased insight into their work strengths and preferences, and a clearer plan for navigating their next career step.

Please note: Career Redirection does not include intensive job‑seeking support, resume development or direct job placement. The focus of the service is reflective exploration and informed career decision‑making.
